What Is Included in Video SEO Builder?
When using Video SEO Builder for the first time, you will need to set up your first project. You can do this simply by entering your domain in the form and clicking ‘Next’.
You will then be asked to choose your strategy based on your SEO requirements—you can pick a risky strategy for ‘Quick Wins’ (coming soon) or a reliable strategy for long-term growth, namely the ‘Growth Engine’. For each route, the app will provide you with estimates for timeframe, workload and increases in authority and traffic for your website.
Once you’ve chosen your strategy, you can enter the main topics you want to rank for—try to keep these to broad topics or pillars around which you want to create lots of content. Customize your three main topics and click ‘Get Started’ to enable the app to build your AI-driven strategy.
Each project you create within Video SEO Builder will appear in a ‘Project’ list at the top-right of your dashboard, where you can switch between them and edit them via the dropdown arrows and the cog icon respectively.
Click the cog icon to edit the project name, domain and description and view your goals and channel details.
To return to the main dashboard, click the Video SEO Builder logo at the top of the left-hand menu.
Video SEO Strategy
The ‘Strategy’ tab within each project will display a range of features to help you keep your video SEO strategy on track. These include:
Weekly SEO Roadmap
The main banner across the top of your dashboard will be your 52-week SEO roadmap of activity, based on what the AI suggests you need to do to climb the Google rankings.
Hover over and click on each week to reveal the tasks required to complete that week and some insights on your performance and predictions in the boxes beneath the banner.
Task Todo List
The tasks you need to complete to optimize your video strategy will appear in a checklist here. They will be based on the topics and subtopics determined by the AI and/or customized by you when you set up your project.
Click on a tick box or the corresponding text to complete a task or click the pencil or trash can icons to edit or delete them. Type in the ‘Add task’ box and click the ‘+’ icon to add a task to your Todo list.
Goals and Forecasts
Your performance in relation to the goals you set for each project will be displayed here—switch between them via the dropdown arrows or edit them via the pencil icon.
Editing your goals requires manual input of your targets for Domain Authority and Traffic. Your figures will be saved automatically after you enter them and click away from each box.
Your Goals and Forecast will change according to the numbers you enter, so you can use this information to track the progress of your video SEO strategy.
Progress and Schedule
As you execute your SEO strategy, you will see your weekly progress displayed on your dashboard. You can also change your schedule for creating and publishing new videos with the day icons under ‘Schedule’.
Video SEO Research
The ‘Research’ tab within each project is where you’ll find features to explore your keyword opportunities for video creation. These include:
Topics and Subtopics
The ‘Topic overview’ under the ‘Research’ tab is where you’ll find all the topics included in the SEO strategy for each of your projects. You can view them and add new ones via the dropdown menu and change their names via the cog icon to the right.
Each topic dashboard will show you the monthly search volume and trend performance for that specific topic keyword.
Within each subtopic dropdown menu, you will see a list of content ideas with the associated Trend data over the past 12 months, the Difficulty based on how many videos already rank for each keyword and the average monthly search Volume. You can also add new subtopics via the ‘+ Add’ button.
The Volume is based on data from Google Keyword Planner, while the Difficulty score is based on a custom algorithm that looks at search intent, keyword difficulty and videos that are already ranking in the SERP. The algorithm estimates how hard it will be to compete for that keyword if you choose to create a video about it.
Clicking on each content idea will reveal a list of keywords for that idea and a selection of videos that present direct competition in the SERP. Each competing video can be viewed by clicking on the link within the ‘Competition’ list, while the live search results for each term can be viewed by clicking on the keyword in the list.
Users can create videos based on individual ideas directly via the ‘Create Video’ button—the videos you create will appear in this list for each idea later.
Ideas can be deleted using the ‘Delete Idea’ button under the ‘Actions’ section.
Video Editor
When you click ‘Create Video’ within an idea in the ‘Research’ tab, you’ll be taken into the video editor process, which begins with choosing an idea from a list of AI-generated suggestions. Click on an idea to continue.
When you choose an idea, you’ll be asked to complete a prompt for the AI, including the topic, the desired length of video and the color, as well as which Brand Kit you want to use. If you haven’t added a Brand Kit, you can select ‘No brand kit’ here. Choose a type of imagery and click ‘Create Video’ to instantly create fresh content based on your chosen idea.
The app will then create your video with AI and you’ll be taken to the video editor to customize as you wish. Customization options include changing the voice, style, music, media, subtitles, title and script.
You can also ask AI to make changes to the video via the prompt at the bottom-right of your screen—this includes things like making it shorter and changing the language. Type your command into the box and click the arrow to get the AI started on the task.
Once you’re happy with your video, you can start rendering it using the ‘Export’ button at the top-right of your screen. The process of exporting your video may take a few seconds or minutes.
Each video you export will be rendered in three ratios (landscape, square and portrait) and will use 1 credit. You can switch between the ratios at the top of your screen once your video has been rendered.
You can download the video as a .mp4 file or the thumbnail and subtitles separately using the orange button beneath the image. Beneath that, you can get the embed code for your site and edit the metadata using the dropdown options—the thumbnail will download as a .jpg and the subtitles as a .srt file.
Video Content Library
Every video you create will appear under the ‘Content’ tab within each project. You can use this section to edit, rename, duplicate or delete your videos. Simply click the three dots to the right of each piece of content to make changes.
Click on each piece of content to return directly to the video editor if you want to make further edits.
Brand Kits
Video SEO Builder lets you add unique brand kits to guide the AI in generating content that suits your style and identity. You can find this feature in the main navigation bar at the far left of your screen.
You can manually add your brand details using the following forms here:
- Company: Add your business name, domain, logo and square icon (only images of up to 1MB in size can be uploaded)
- Context: Tell the AI about your company by describing its services, brand voice and target audience
- Design: Choose your primary and secondary colors, add your fonts and choose a style of imagery from the dropdown list
- Call to Action: Add your preferred CTA and choose a color for it
- Social Media: Tell the AI how to compose posts for social media, including emoji and hashtag usage
- Localization: Choose a language for local targeting and pick a voice from the list
It’s possible to add custom fonts manually—if you’re on a Pro subscription, please contact support via the app to make a font request.
